Stewardship

Stewardship is often defined as “giving”, but in reality, stewardship means “managing” the property of another.  When it comes to our financial stewardship, we are managing the resources of God.  When we manage (steward) for the Owner, we do so according to His instructions and for His benefit.  We are called to be good stewards.

Here is how we define, “Stewardship”.

·         Stewardship is the purposeful use of that part of God’s resources that come under our control for the advancement of God’s priorities.

·         God’s priorities are primarily discerned through the study of His Word, but can also come from God’s unique direction for us as revealed by the Holy Spirit.

·         God’s priorities, as revealed in Scripture, include giving to the organized church, giving to others in need, providing for our families, for our enjoyment, and more.

·         Since every use of money eliminates other alternative uses, each steward (us) should consider all of the positive ways God’s money can be deployed before making financial decisions.

·         A steward must be willing to change (financial) direction when prompted by the Holy Spirit or by their deepened understanding of Scripture.

At Dan Hardt Financial Services, we believe that good (Godly) stewardship is an obligation.  Our experience shows that it’s also a great opportunity, a spiritually-strengthening journey, and a great adventure.
